As a software engineer & designer, I help brands and companies connect with their audience, achieve their business goals, and leave a mark in a fast-moving world.

My name is Scott. I'm a passionate engineer with over 15 years of experience who works closely with companies to help them unlock their full potential and solve specific business problems with effective and scalable solutions.

UI / Web Designer and Developer with 15+ years of commercial experience, working in Real Estate, Automotive, News / Publishing, E-commerce, News Media, local and national Governmental projects and Entertainment industries (to name a few).

Interface and Web Designer with 15+ years of commercial experience specializing in graphically immersive experiences, primarily for the Entertainment industries such as Gaming, Series & Movies.

UX Designer with 15+ years of commercial experience in making applications and software used for internal and external use.

Software Developer & Engineer with 10+ years of commercial experience, specializing in front-end design systems and micro-frontends. Mostly now working within the ReactJS ecosystem, but also continue to work on micro embeddable platforms (Vanilla JS) and traditional front-end projects.

Over the years I've been leading design or development in projects with: Sport050, Jagex, Curse, Marti Pellow, NPO, Vorm, Mensenlinq, WebsiteBuilder, HostGator and many more. Some of these platforms reach millions of unique visitors per month, or tools used by internal development teams to speed up and standardize their development process.

I'm quality, commercially and efficiency motivated, I also want to continue to grow, while also spreading my knowledge and experience where I can.

I do not believe in simply telling others what or how to do things. Rather I prefer facilitating the conversation and team to make informed decisions that have a positive outcome on their work and project(s). Likewise I'll always be there to assist the team with blockers, solutions or anything else, as and when needed.

Goldmund - NPO

code

Nederlandse Publieke Omroep (NPO) required a back-office management software to help manage the yearly broadcast shows, ideas and scheduling in connection with external broadcasters and publishers.

Since joining Goldmund i have largely re-architected the react application into a living Next.js service, that has become more extensible and maintainable. As well as better scaling and adapting to the growing needs of NPO, Publishers and External Broadcasters.

Hotelchamp offers a complete software suite for the hospitality industry, focusing on increasing visibility and direct bookings so hotels can boost room reservations and direct revenue.

My role within the organization is to facilitate the front end of the suite, concentrating on designing and building modular, compact, and accessible solutions for our customers.

I also assist with QA, UX, and design tasks, helping teams deliver impactful, iterative, high-quality improvements more quickly.

My role with-in Goldmund is to help lead the front-end of the company; this includes mentoring, design, development and user experience.

For our customers: I partner with them to look at their customer / user journey, ensuring each deliverable focuses on the best experience and functionality for their customer and product. I also help ensure the software foundation and design of the product is as scalable, clean and accessible as possible.

I continue to connect with our customers to circle back feedback, features and issues internally, as well as build a technical roadmap and address immediate concerns.

As part of Endurance Corp, Appmachine serves an important role internally for building and innovating products used across the Endurance brands (HostGator, Gator, Sitebuilder, BlueHost, Creative.mail etc.).

My role(s) within the team(s) is to help build and maintain the products, maintain the core packages / building blocks that make our software and help the team continue innovating by introducing new and exciting technology within the ES7/8, React, Webpack etc. ecosystems. In addition, I help train the new members of the team and pass on knowledge and support to juniors.

The main products I was tasked to build features upon and maintain, were the website and email builders.

Front-end Developer

My main role within Belsimpel was to help maintain and enrich the user experience of the website, by introducing new features and solving user problems. All features were built in an A/B test driven manner using our in-house ABS tool.

I also helped to introduce common tooling and practices into the front-end team, such as linting with eslint and sass-lint, automated testing with selenium and some agile / scrum practices.

I helped manage and maintain the front-end of the Crowdynews platform. This involved building and maintaining engaging and user-friendly widgets and applications.

I also helped manage the way advertisers can advertise through our platform, helping to set up programmatic and native advertisement solutions.

Lastly, I also worked on DMP-related implementation and targeted audience data to gather more insights into the users and their behaviours.

I started my freelance practice here in the Netherlands, where I proceeded to do front-end design, development, user experience and support for a wide range of projects.

I worked closely with Dragonbyte-tech, Skinbox and IPBForumSkins to provide the best service possible for their customers. In addition, I worked with companies like Jagex, Zam and other media entities to provide a unique and custom front-end experience for their users.

Freelance Designer / Developer

I was tasked to convert the designs of the Jagex team into their community platforms. I helped build out their community features with custom-built solutions and helped optimise and improve the community experience.This involved tweaking the design and implementing it, as well as building custom solutions into the software.

During this period of time I did internships and volunteer work for projects and companies in website design, UI & app design, user experience and customer support for a wide range of online services doing CMS Themes, apps, CMS Modules and more. I developed and designed for IPB, Xenforo, VBulletin, Joomla and many more.

World of Warcraft - Guild Audit Tool

The Guild Audit Tool connects directly to the World of Warcraft API to fetch up-to-date data about your guild and its members. It then analyzes this information against a set of key criteria and milestones—such as raid progression, gear levels, achievements, and quest completions—providing a comprehensive overview of your guild's strengths and areas for improvement.

Managing a guild with 20, 40, or even more members can be a daunting task, especially when trying to keep track of everyone's progress and identify what each member might be missing. This tool streamlines that process by offering detailed auditing and management features.
